Getting your “Head” in the door

To this day, I still laugh on the outside and cry on the inside when I talk to people about my BFA, a Bachelor of Fine Arts.  In Music Theatre.  When talking to future nurses, doctors, scientists, law enforcement, entrepreneurs, etc, it comes up and the first thing many will say is, “Wow, must have been tough to just dance and sing the whole time.”

And it’s true, that’s what you do.  A lot of it.  From my experience, training in the performing arts is not one of those degrees where you can take less than the full eighteen credits or more a semester.  It’s not a degree where you only have classes a few days a week and other days off.  It’s not a degree where you’re done every day at three in the afternoon.  If you really want to make it, you work hard, and you work often.  Perseverance, talent, and skill are a few of the tools you need, but there’s one more I’d like to talk about.

The Headshot!  Actors gotta have ’em.  And Hanson Photography would like to help you out with them.  For information on pricing, simply go to my Packages page, and scroll down to the bottom of the page.  The two actors featured here are both graduates of Viterbo University, right here in La Crosse, WI.  They got their headshots updated this spring and are on the path to bigger and better things.  I primarily shoot outdoors so this summer would be the perfect time to schedule a shoot.

Even if you’re not an actor/actress you can still enjoy some of the photos by visiting my Facebook page.  Thanks for stopping by and check back for more updates soon!
